A Contract-to-Hire Material Handler position is available in Carson, CA courtesy of Akkodis.Ready to apply Before you do, make sure to read all the details pertaining to this job in the description below.Rate: $19.00/hour (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, shift, education, geographic location, and other factors.)Location: Grand Prairie, TXJob Type: Contract-to-HireABOUT THE ROLE:This position is responsible for working in the Logistics Department and will be responsible for receiving, stocking, issuing, packaging, and shipping parts in a timely manner. Works in a team environment participating in continuous improvement activities.RESPONSIBILIES:Works in receiving and performs necessary tasks to receive parts in a timely manner.Stocks parts in the appropriate locations after applying identification labels and fills back-orders.Kits parts from stockroom locations for variety of orders.Performs part receipt and issue transactions in Business System (Movex).Performs all Logistics related transactions in Movex for parts issues, credits, and scrap.Accurately counts parts if assigned to the cycle count team.Deliver parts to specified locations within the company premises.Packages parts for shipping process and perform shipping transactions.Operates FEDEX/UPS stand-alone systems.Performs other duties as assigned Requires little to no experience in discipline.Conducts routine tasks as directed.Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum number of 3 years of experience.Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Forklift and cherry picker experience to pick and move parts to higher locations in stockroom. The maximum height the cherry picker goes up to is 24 ft.Ability to operate PC with knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software packages.Prior Experience creating excel spread sheets and entering data.Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and take the initiative.Strong oral and written communication skills.Must possess basic Math skills and be able to comprehend varying units of measureMust know how to use measuring scales, weight scales, and counting scalesAbility to utilize barcode scanning equipmentBasic understanding of logistics process and Bills of MaterialsIf you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
