Maintenance Mechanic Location: West Chicago, ILOur client, a leading medical device manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in West Chicago. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that production equipment and facility systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and support the installation and validation of new systems"”all while keeping safety as the top priority.Do you have the following skills, experience and drive to succeed in this role Find out below.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance on manual, semi-automated, and automated equipment using blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair utility systems and building infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Conduct machine adjustments and calibrations on sensors, interlocks, isolation systems, and controls in accordance with safety standards.Analyze issues using PLC monitors, CNC control panels, and related diagnostic tools, implementing corrective actions as needed.Maintain accurate maintenance records, including certifications, calibration logs, equipment history, and PM work orders.Repair facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, lighting, pneumatics, and structural components.Assist engineering teams with new equipment installation, testing, modifications, and validation.Manage and prioritize planned and unplanned work requests with minimal supervision, ensuring alignment with safety and production requirements.Identify and source replacement components, supplies, and vendors, making cost-effective purchasing recommendations.Adhere strictly to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Arc Flash, and all other safety protocols.Support and participate in other facility and maintenance-related initiatives as assigned.Qualifications2-5 years of experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, ladder logic, and machine blueprints.2-5 years of hands-on troubleshooting experience with electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.1-2 years of experience mentoring or assisting in training other maintenance mechanics.Strong problem-solving, investigational, and follow-up skills across multiple technical systems.Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain a strong commitment to safety compliance.
