As a marine law enforcement professional, you will be responsible for conducting maritime-based operations to detect, prevent, and intercept illegal activities.Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.Your typical duties may include:Monitoring the behavior patterns and activities of suspects believed to be engaged in illicit activities.Interpreting radar data to determine the most appropriate intercept course while tracking vessels and individuals.Conducting searches of persons, vessels, baggage, and cargo for contraband or weapons incidental to detention or arrest.Collecting, analyzing, and refining strategic and tactical intelligence.To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the requirements listed under qualifications. This includes possessing a qualifying Merchant Mariner Credential and meeting the age requirement specified by Public Law 100-238.Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.Age Requirement: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. Candidates must be referred for selection before reaching their 40th birthday.
