Position Title: Construction ManagerLocation: Binghamton, NYEmployment Type: 12-month Contract with potential for multi-year extensionsCheck out the role overview below If you are confident you have got the right skills and experience, apply today.About Our ClientOur client is a globally recognized project management advisory firm that supports capital project delivery across the power and energy sectors, helping organizations achieve success through collaboration, strong leadership, and technical excellence.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and oversee the execution of large-scale power/grid infrastructure projects, including substation construction, transmission upgrades, and distribution system improvements. The successful candidate will provide management oversight to Field Construction Managers and ensure that all construction activities meet company standards for safety, quality, cost control, and schedule performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the performance of Field Construction Managers across multiple active projects.Develop, monitor, and evaluate contractor scopes, deliverables, and service performance to ensure adherence to contract terms.Manage field inspection, quality assurance, and final sign-off processes for project completion.Oversee project progress with a focus on safety compliance, schedule efficiency, and budget discipline.Provide constructability input and feedback on engineering designs across electrical, mechanical, civil, and protection disciplines.Support contract development, evaluation, and change management activities to maintain alignment with project objectives.Coordinate construction schedules and material logistics with engineering, procurement, and operations teams.Assess and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and collaboration with stakeholders.Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards, including FERC, NERC, ISO-NE, and CIP requirements.Promote a culture of safety by enforcing company policies, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Participate in budgeting, cost forecasting, and contractor performance reviews.Serve as a senior liaison between company, clients, and contractors to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within the electric utility or power infrastructure sector.At least 7 years in construction management roles; supervisory experience preferred.Strong understanding of construction planning, cost control, and contract administration.Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently to job sites.Experience with substation, distribution and transmission projects strongly preferred.Why Join?
