We're a small, hands-on team that works together to keep things running smoothly and efficiently.*Summary*We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Black Hawk Waste Disposal. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of providing reliable waste disposal services.*Responsibilities** Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.* Diagnose mechanical issues and develop effective solutions.* Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.* Repair or replace defective parts, including brakes, tires, and hydraulic systems.* Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.* Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.* Must be available to work *Monday through Friday*, with occasional *Saturday shifts as needed** Ability to *lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly* throughout the shift* Physically capable of performing duties such as *walking, jogging, bending, climbing, and lifting heavy bags* from curbside to the truck* Sufficient stamina to maintain a *steady work pace for the full duration* of the shift* Comfortable working *outdoors in all weather conditions* and able to dress appropriately for the season* Must demonstrate *reliable attendance* and a strong commitment to being on time* Must be able to *pass a drug screening**Requirements** Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role.* Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.* Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and maintenance.* Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.* Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus but not requiredIf you are passionate about mechanics and want to be part of a dedicated team that values your skills, we invite you to apply today at Black Hawk Waste Disposal!Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 - 55 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceExperience:* Diesel mechanic: 2 years (Required)Ability to Commute:* Waterloo, IA 50704 (Required)Work Location: In person
