This position leads the implementation of these systems technologies, develops comprehensive maintenance strategies, and serves as the primary technical expert for all these systems-related matters. The position plays a crucial role in optimizing energy efficiency, ensuring environmental comfort, and maintaining critical climate control systems.Essential Job FunctionsDesign and implement advanced HVAC, refrigeration, air compressors, boilers, and pumps systems and controls for new and existing facilitiesDevelop and oversee comprehensive preventative maintenance programs across all locationsLead complex troubleshooting and repair of sophisticated systems equipment and building automation systemsConduct energy audits and recommend efficiency improvements for HVAC systemsManage large-scale projects on the different systems, including system upgrades and replacementsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior techniciansCollaborate with engineering and facilities management teams on building design and renovationsAnalyze systems performance data to optimize operations and reduce costsEnsure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standardsDevelop and maintain technical documentation for the systems and proceduresServe as the primary liaison with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies for systems mattersOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsSpecialty Electrician with 6+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC, refrigeration, air compressors, boilers, and pumps systemsExtensive knowledge of building automation systems and energy managementStrong project management and leadership skillsIn-depth understanding of ASHRAE standards and local building codesPreferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDJourney Level Electrician LicenseProficiency in HVAC design software and building information modeling (BIM)Advanced certifications such as NATE (North American Technician Excellence) or MSCA (Mechanical Service Contractors of America) STAR certificationExperience with green building practices and LEED certification processesKnowledge of refrigeration systems and chiller operationsFamiliarity with renewable energy integration in HVAC systemsWork Environment:This position involves on-site inspections and troubleshooting. The role requires the ability to work in various environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occasionally in confined spaces, travel between facilities. The Specialist must be comfortable working at heights, in extreme temperatures, and around high-voltage equipment.
