ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individuals to join our team!! We have 1 immediate Material Handler and Receiver position (full-time) open within the Shipping area at our facility in Spring, TX! The Material Handler and Receiver will receive and distribute production materials to specified work areas. Additionally, will have operation of heavy equipment such as overhead cranes, side loaders, and forklift to facilitate handling of bar lengths up to 24'. Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies. Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately. Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner at all times. Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means. Move raw materials about the plant and warehouse by hand or using forklifts or other equipment. Delivers production items to designated work areas for processing. Sort cargo before loading and unloading; attach identifying tags to cargo or mark with identifying information. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets. Direct and position receptacles, such as bins, carts, or containers; attach devices to lift cargo and guide loads Understand and maintain traceability for all materials. Participate in annual cycle counting. Utilize MRP system to process receipt of materials. Perform other related duties as assigned EXPERIENCE 0-5 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment Fasteners industry experience preferred Side loader and forklift experience preferred SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate's degree preferred Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance Must be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends Self-motivated, team-player. Attention to detail PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift Safely operate and unload using large forklift and side loaders. Experience a PLUS. Ability to manually load or unload materials, mainly bar stock, onto or off of bins, bar racks, or pallets, weighing 25-150 lbs Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close, Distance, Peripheral, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer WORK ENVIRONMENT Manufacturing warehouse environment with multi step process production runs on different machines.
