Come see what you're missing and join Pink Jeep's Fleet team as an Automotive Mechanic!$800 Sign on Bonus paid in four $200 installments every 30 days.You must apply on our website to be considered - Our Automotive Mechanics diagnose, adjust, repair and perform preventive maintenance on all Pink Jeep vehicles including Jeeps, Trekkers, Shuttle, Vans, and Trucks. Mechanics may repair virtually any system or component on the vehicle including the transmission system. Technicians also assist in the day-to-day operations of the Service Center and interface with tour customers, Guides, and the general public in assisting with rescue operations and repairs of the vehicle.RESPONSIBILITIESCommunicates with supervisors, peers, and other company employees on a variety of issues in a positive and professional mannerConfer with Guides and other drivers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirementsTest drive vehicles and test components and systems using equipment such as specialized testers, computerized diagnostic devices, or special toolsExamine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctionsFollow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areasPlan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experienceReview and complete work orders in a thorough, detailed and legible manner; discuss with Manager as neededPerform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-upsDiagnose and repair brake system, replace wear items, machine brake drums and rotorsPerforms tire repairs, mount and balance tires as neededRepair and service air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systemsTear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkagesDisassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gaugesRepair or replace parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearingsDiagnose and repair electrical systems such as ignition systems, lights, and instrument panelsRepair manual and automatic transmissions & transfer cases including electronic controlled unitsInstall and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipersMust be able to operate vehicles including test driving in traffic and on "off road" trailsMaintain cleanliness of work areaOther duties may be assigned to meet business needsQUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSMinimum 3 year's bumper-to-bumper experience in an independent shop or dealershipHigh School diploma or equivalentValid driver's license with acceptable MVR recordASE certification(s) preferredWelding/fabrication experience a plusAble to operate vehicles including test driving in traffic and on "off road" trailsExperience and ability driving a manual transmission vehicleRegular walking throughout service center facilities throughout the dayRequires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, standing, getting into awkward positions up to 8 hours per day and occasionally working in cramped work spacesRequires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controlsRequires face-to-face and telephone discussions with individuals or teamsRequires lifting or carrying up to 60 lbs on a regular basis, and occasionally, or with assistance, up to 100 lbsRequires clear vision and adequate hearingEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
