Purchasing Manager

U.S. Subsidiary of an Italian Packaging Equipment Manufacturer seeking an experienced Purchasing Buyer / Inventory Manager to oversee purchasing and supplier sourcing for fabricated parts and components (stainless steel, aluminum, plastics) used in packaging machinery. This is a hands-on role in a *small, locally-based operation* with a collaborative, team-oriented culture.Find out if this opportunity is a good fit by reading all of the information that follows below.*Key Responsibilities:** Manage end-to-end purchasing: RFQs, POs, delivery tracking, and vendor invoicing.* Ownership of sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management.* Identify, qualify, and negotiate with domestic suppliers for machined and fabricated components.* Monitor inventory levels and align purchasing with production needs, including *setting up and managing min/max stock levels*.* Track supplier performance and implement improvements as needed.* Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure material quality, availability, and proper QA on mechanical parts.* Read and understand mechanical drawings and verify measurements of parts received.* Work hands-on with the team in a small, fast-paced local operation.*Must-Haves:** Extremely *analytical* with strong problem-solving skills.* Understanding of *mechanical parts* and ability to perform *quality assurance checks*.* Ability to *read mechanical drawings* and *check measurements* accurately.* Hands-on, team-player mindset due to small local operation culture.* Proficiency in *QuickBooks and Excel* for reporting, tracking, and analysis.* Experience with *inventory management*, including establishing min/max levels.*Qualifications:** 3-5 years' experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain (manufacturing preferred).* Strong *procurement background*, including supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and vendor qualification.* Knowledge of fabrication or machined parts sourcing preferred.* Experience with contract manufacturing or vendor management a plus.* Familiarity with import/export regulations and tariffs a plus.Job Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time offWork Location: In person
