We bring decades of excellence to California infrastructure and continue to grow in reach and reputation.*Position Summary*We're seeking a skilled *Underground Utilities Superintendent* to lead utility operations on major infrastructure projects across Ventura County . This role will manage underground installations such as water, sewer, storm drain, dry utilities, and related scopes within public works and large-scale civil projects.*Essential Functions** Lead day-to-day operations of underground utility crews* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to ensure proper utility installation* Enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance (Cal/OSHA, MUTCD, etc.)* Supervise trenching, shoring, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction work* Manage subcontractors, equipment, laborers, and material logistics* Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks* Proactively resolve field challenges and technical issues* Document daily reports, inspections, and field changes* Other duties as assigned*Requirements**Education & Qualifications*· High school diploma or equivalent required.· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but *not required* if experience is extensive.· *Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience* in underground utility installation, including water, sewer, storm, and dry utilities.· Prior experience as Foreman or Superintendent on public works or civil utility projects strongly preferred.· Current OSHA 30 certification required; Confined Space and Competent Person Training preferred.· Proficiency in reading blueprints, civil plans, and understanding elevations, slopes, and utility separation requirements.· Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously.· Clean driving record and reliable transportation required.· Expert knowledge of utility construction, trench safety, and inspection protocols· Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills· Ability to read civil plans and manage field resources efficiently· Valid driver's license; ability to travel to sites across LA/IE/OC*Compensation & Benefits** Salary Range: *$115,000 - $165,000/year* (based on experience)* Performance bonuses and project incentives* Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision)* 401(k) or retirement plan* PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays* Career advancement opportunities across Southern California projects*EEOC**Toro Enterprises is an Equal Opportunity Employer.* We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
