Associate Attorney - HOA Law (3+ Years Experience)

This is a hands-on role for an attorney who excels at advising HOAs, property managers, and multi-unit housing clients, while handling general civil legal matters.You'll work closely with clients, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to the growth of a collaborative, client-focused practice.Preference will be given to candidates with a portable book of business, but that is not a requirement.*Key Responsibilities** Advise HOA boards and property managers on compliance, enforcement, collections, and governing documents* Draft, review, and interpret declarations, bylaws, rules, contracts, and resolutions* Handle contracts, disputes, demand letters, and negotiations* Represent clients in administrative hearings or court proceedings as needed* Provide strategic guidance on legal risks, options, and solutions* Manage deadlines, billable work, and supervise legal assistants* Mentor junior attorneys and support practice growth* Maintain timely, professional client communication* Stay current on legislative updates in property, real estate, and HOA law* Perform a minimum of 1500 billable hours annually*Qualifications**Required:** J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school* Active Colorado law license* 3+ years of HOA/community association law experience* Strong legal writing, communication, and organizational skills* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software*Preferred:** Experience with HOAs, property managers, or common interest communities* Familiarity with Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA)* Experience drafting and interpreting governing documents and contracts* Portable book of business*Why SJJ Law*At SJJ Law, we prioritize people.
