Our therapeutic team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, music therapists, and special education itinerant teachers (SEITs).Families rely on Daystar Kids therapists to provide therapy to their children who have a variety of diagnoses. You will provide therapy to children who require feeding and swallowing therapy, augmentative/alternative equipment training with therapy (AAC), language therapy, and speech-language therapy for a wide variety of developmental speech disorders due to conditions such as ASD, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, seizure disorders, and cleft palate.*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** Provides evidence-based speech-language interventions to enrollees and initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with agency procedures.* Interprets treatment plans (IFSPs and IEPs) to enrollees' families and to all Daystar Kids care team members who are working with the child.* Progress monitors goals and objectives on enrollees' IFSPs and IEPs and provides feedback to CPSE committees and IFSP committees.* Adapts the speech-language therapeutic plan based on individual enrollees' progress toward achieving goals.* Provides in-service training to the members of the enrollees' care team, including parents and/or caregivers, to ensure carryover of speech-language skills into the classroom and home setting.* Works collaboratively with the occupational therapists to provide age and developmentally appropriate feeding and swallowing therapies as indicated on individual student plans, IFSPs, and IEPs.* Trains enrollees' care team, including parents and/or caregivers, on Augmentative Devices or Alternative Communication systems (AAC).* Maintains all necessary documentation of services promptly. Documentation includes, but is not limited to, IFSP and IEP present levels of performance, goals and objectives, daily session notes, and weekly lesson plans with progress monitoring notes for each enrollee.*OTHER DUTIES** Adheres to Daystar's customer service principles and serves as an ambassador for the program.* Attends meetings, program events and professional development activities, as required.* Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.*EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE** Master's Degree in designated therapy specialty* Must hold current license in New York State* Minimum 3 years' experience* Feeding experience preferred* OPRA enrollment preferred*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES** Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.* Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members.* Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.*PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT*The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
