Our practice is built on integrity, empathy, and excellence in advocacy, with a deep understanding of the complex legal and medical issues involved in these cases.We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with a passion for helping injured clients navigate the medical malpractice process. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on litigation experience and receive direct mentorship from the founding attorney with over 40 years of experience in Indiana medical malpractice law.*Key Responsibilities:** Assist in all stages of pre-litigation and litigation, with a focus on Indiana's Medical Malpractice Act* Evaluate potential claims, including statute of limitations and qualified provider status* Draft and file Proposed Complaints with the Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI)* Prepare and organize Medical Review Panel submissions, including records, pleadings, and expert reports* Coordinate with panel chairs, opposing counsel, and the IDOI throughout the panel process* Review, interpret, and summarize medical records and expert opinions* Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and discovery documents* Attend and assist with depositions, pretrial conferences, and mediations* Work on Patient's Compensation Fund (PCF) filings for excess damages, including affidavits and settlement documents* Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit management and witness coordination* Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed and supported through every step*Qualifications:** J.D. from an accredited law school* Licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana (required)* 5+ years of experience in litigation; experience with medical malpractice (preferred)* Working knowledge of the Indiana Medical Malpractice Act* Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills* Strong organizational and time-management abilities* Professional, empathetic communication style with clients and colleagues* Ability to handle complex factual and legal issues independently and collaboratively*Ideal Candidate:** Understands or is eager to learn the Indiana medical malpractice system, including the role of the IDOI, Medical Review Panels, and PCF* Has a meticulous eye for detail, particularly in reviewing medical records and identifying key issues* Wants to work in a small, mentorship-focused setting with meaningful client relationships with the long-term goal of reaching partnership or eventually opening their own practice* Is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate legal representation*Schedule:** Monday to Friday, weekends on an as needed basis* In-office position (Indianapolis, IN)*Benefits:** Competitive salary based on experience* Health, vision and dental insurance* Additional benefits discussed during the hiring process*To Apply:*Please submit your resume and cover letter.Job Type: Full-timePay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceApplication Question(s):* If hired, what is your available start date?Experience:* civil litigation: 5 years (Required)License/Certification:* Bar (Required)Ability to Commute:* Indianapolis, IN 46240 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Indianapolis, IN 46240: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
