We are growing and are looking for driven and organized individuals who share the same pride and enthusiasm for the industry as we do.Take the next step in your career now, scroll down to read the full role description and make your application.Purpose:Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Operations is responsible for strategically managing Uihlein Electric's Operations Department; this person ensures the development and execution of efficient, cost-effective systems that align with organizational goals. The Director of Operations supervises functions of the department while also serving as our customers' final point of contact in matters requiring escalation. This role directs the work of others and requires creativity and autonomy in decision-making.Essential Duties include the following:Develops strategic plans for the Operations Department in conjunction with the PresidentWorks with President and other department leaders to guide and advance the progress of the Company's strategic plan; appropriately communicates and pushes directives to reports and field employeesMaintains seller's mindset; pushes Uihlein's brand, services and capabilities to current and potential customersIdentifies and utilizes KPIs to drive efficiencies within Operations Department; implements corrective actions in the office and in the field as neededContinually develops and modifies procedures for optimal operational effectivenessAssigns and monitors projects to Project Managers; ensures work is distributed effectivelyMonitors status of critical projects to ensure that all goals relative to schedule, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction are metWorks with the Safety Director to ensure all high-risk operations are planned and monitored for safe executionCoordinates the flow of information between field and office personnel and client/owner; ensures teamwork and resolves issuesCoaches and develops direct reports; prioritizes retention of high performing members of Operations DepartmentAttends all scheduled company meetings & functions, including those conducted in the evenings or on weekendsDevelops an annual plan for personal career growth and professional development in conjunction with PresidentPerforms other duties as assigned.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent work experienceTen Years of progressively responsible experience for a commercial/industrial electrical contractorMinimum of three years' experience in a Project Management or field leadership roleIn-depth knowledge of current electrical codes and standardsComprehensive knowledge of construction means, methods, and schedulingProficient in various construction-related systems i.e. Blue Beam, Procore, and AccubidProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to plan, coordinate, and organize initiativesAbility to exercise attention to detailPossess strong organizational capabilitiesStrong accounting skills and financial aptitudeAbility to effectively communicate both verbally and through written formatAbility to maintain rapport with internal counterparts, reports and customersPhysical Requirements:Able to work in an office where job performance may require a long time sitting or standingProduce, file, and perform administrative functions as assignedAble to drive to customer sites as requiredWork Environment:Well-lit, heated, and/or air-conditioned modern office setting with adequate ventilationEmployees may experience heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow exposure on job sitesThe above statements are intended to reflect the principal duties of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
