In this role, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and service diesel engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities for growth.*Responsibilities** Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC components using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools.* Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacements, and fluid checks to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.* Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to meet specific repair needs.* Assemble new or repaired equipment ensuring proper functioning of transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other mechanical parts.* Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues accurately and efficiently.* Perform safety inspections on tractors to ensure compliance with industry standards such as air brake systems and vehicle emissions regulations.* Maintain detailed service records documenting repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for accountability and future reference.* Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate lifting equipment while adhering to safety protocols.*Requirements** Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar heavy equipment repair role* Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, brakes (including air brake systems), welding & fabrication skills.* Proficiency with schematics reading and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately.* Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons and other fabrication tools necessary for complex repairs.* Knowledge of electrical systems within vehicles including troubleshooting electrical issues effectively.Job Type: Full-timeProjected Total Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hourExpected hours: No less than 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceExperience:* Diesel Mechanic: 1 year (Required)Language:* English (Required)Location:* Vancouver, WA 98661 (Preferred)Work Location: In person
