Today, Francesco is known as St. Francis of Assisi, and the Order of Friars Minor comprises more than 100 provinces located around the world.The Gospel life of the friars has four central components: first, to be men of prayer; second, to live as lesser ones, not making anything our own; third, to create a brotherhood of mutual care among ourselves; and fourth, to go about the world entering peoples everyday lives as heralds of Gods reign and agents of Gospel peace.A bit about the role:You will be preparing breakfast and lunch meals on Saturday and Sunday for 10 men in a religious fraternity. Approximate hours 7am 1pm with occasional deviations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and present meals that meet state and local food safety standards and friar requirements and expectations.Collaborate regarding meal schedule and materials.Receive deliveries and store/prep materials and food items.Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained in good & safe working order.Stock salad bar items and manage fryerClean dining room and remove trash following breakfast and lunch mealsAssist with managing supply of all perishable and non-perishable food items plus miscellaneous supplies required for a kitchen and meal preparation operation.Assist with executing special events and dinners for guests and fraternal members.Minimum Qualifications5 7 years cooking and kitchen experience.
