Our immigration practice is rapidly expanding as one of the quickest growing immigration practices in the state.*Position Overview*Banks and Brower is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least one (1) year of experience practicing immigration law. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants hands- on experience, mentorship, and meaningful work serving immigrant communities.*Practice Areas*The associate will handle matters including:* Removal defense before EOIR/Immigration Court* Family-based immigration (Family-based petitions, Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, and Waivers)* Humanitarian relief (Asylum, VAWA, U visas, T visas, SIJs)* Naturalization and other benefits before USCIS* Client counseling, case strategy, and court appearances* It is possible for cross-practice areas as well if desired (criminal, family, personal injury)*Responsibilities** Manage a caseload of immigration matters from intake through resolution* Represent clients before Immigration Courts, USCIS offices, and other agencies* Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and applications* Conduct client interviews and prepare clients for hearings and interviews* Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff* Maintain timely and accurate case documentation*Qualifications** J.D. from an accredited law school* Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction (Indiana preferred or eligibility to waive in)* At least 1 year of experience practicing immigration law* Experience with removal defense and family-based cases preferred* Familiarity with humanitarian forms of relief strongly preferred* Strong oral, legal research, and writing skills* Excellent communication and client advocacy skills* Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment as part of a growing team* Spanish fluency strongly preferred* Interest in helping build and shape a growing immigration practice*Compensation and Benefits** Competitive salary commensurate with experience* 401(K), 100% match up to 4%* Health insurance and other benefits* Paid time off and holidays* 25 days vacation upon hire date, prorated and restarts every Jan. 1* Bonus availability based on metrics reached* CLE support and professional development xijylhu * Supportive team environment with mentorship opportunities*Work Environment** Full-time, in-office position in Indianapolis, Indiana* Occasional travel for court appearances as needed*How to Apply*Interested candidates should submit:* Resume* Cover letter* Writing sample* References (upon request)Please send application materials to:* *Subject line: Associate Immigration Attorney ApplicationBanks and Brower, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in the workplace.Job Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 - $130,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Flexible schedule* Health insurance* Paid time off* Parental leaveAbility to Commute:* Indianapolis, IN 46268 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Indianapolis, IN 46268: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
