Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: Under supervision of a supervisor provide multi-faceted case management and supportive services to children and families referred for service by Illinois Department of Child and Family Services (IL DCFS). Most work is provided in a non-office setting; typically, service provision work is conducted in client homes at varied hours throughout the day and week; often the job requires non traditional work hours. Work towards family stabilization and continued child safety. Complete training and pass all IL DCFS required trainings/exams including the exam for child welfare employee. Meets all applicable employment regulations set by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IL DCFS) and other regulatory agencies. Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency's service population., including the exam for child welfare employees ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •    Complete IL DCFS required assessments, visits and reports at required intervals.  • Provide/coordinate provision of appropriate supportive counseling to children and families referred for services. • Supervise/monitor family living arrangements as necessary. • Prepare required reports for court, IL DCFS, and other paperwork in a timely manner. • Make service referrals and arrange specialized assessments and services as required. • Participate in case staffing's, court hearings, and other meetings related to case planning and case management as required. • Maintain files and documentation including social history, case plans, court reports, documentation of services and other necessary information. • Participate in pre-service, in-service and other required and voluntary training as appropriate. •    Work cooperatively as part of a family support team. • Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: Bachelor's or master's degree in social work or human service field. EXPERIENCE: 2 years of child welfare experience. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: Complete training and pass all IL DCFS required trainings/exams including the exam for child welfare employee.  PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Occasional lifting of files, office supplies, and boxes. Regular driving to conduct home visits and attend court hearings.  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None    JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred but not required due to client population needs) Must hold a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance with liability coverage of at least $100k is required.  Ability to provide case management services. Training or experience in child abuse/neglect, substance abuse, mental health, and/or domestic violence preferred. Ability to build rapport quickly with diverse families and maintain professional boundaries.  Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working in varied home environments, including high-stress or crisis situations.  Flexibility to adjust schedule, including some evenings and weekends, based on client needs. xijylhu  Proficiency with basic computer systems.
