Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered nurse with accountability for clinical care of a designated patient care service area. Responsible for Assessing, identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating the processes, technology, personnel, and facility needs required to achieve patient outcomes safely in a patient centered environment. The Assistant Nurse Manager will also assume the role of Nurse Manager in her absence will assist the Nurse Manager in providing leadership and supervision to the Nursing staff.Experience, qualification, and soft skills, have you got everything required to succeed in this opportunity Find out below.RequirementsImplements patient care activities in conjunction with the Nurse Manager and members of the healthcare teamAssists in the evaluation of quality and effectiveness of nursing care administered to patients, and makes recommendations for improvement to the Nurse ManagerMonitors selection and use of unit supplies, technology and equipmentAssures that all unit staff are informed of medical centers developments and participates with the patient care area planning and problem solvingConducts /facilitates leadership and care team meetings, demonstrates ability to achieve meeting outcomes. Maintains records of minutesCoordinates ER referralsRecords, reports and interprets client responses and collaborates with appropriate members of the health team in the Family PracticeReads and implements current nursing policies and standards written in nursing literatureParticipates in the department's performance improvement activitiesAssumes responsibilities in the absence of the Nurse Manager, including hiring, termination and evaluation of employeesQUALIFICATIONSBS in Nursing or equivalent requiredMinimum of 2 years' experience working in clinical setting (ambulatory care setting a plus)Minimum of 2 years nursing experienceBi-lingual Spanish/English preferredLicensed Registered Nurse in New York StateCurrent BCLSCurrent Infection ControlCurrent Child Abuse CertificateEqual Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action:The Institute for Family Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
