Job Description

Curbside Waste is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel route vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with changing brakes, working on and changing suspensions, performing electrical work, handling hydraulic systems, troubleshooting issues, conducting diagnostic testing, and welding. Curbside Waste is a family owned and operated waste hauler established in 2012. We currently have a fleet of 90+ collection trucks and growing. This position will be based in our new Dayton, MN location. We opened a Savage location June 1st 2025 and just opened a Big Lake shop Jan 1 2026Want to apply Read all the information about this position below, then hit the apply button.Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment.- Change brakes and work on suspension systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.- Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting to identify and fix electrical issues.- Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, ensuring all components function correctly.- Perform diagnostic testing to identify and resolve mechanical issues.- Utilize welding skills to repair or fabricate parts as needed.- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work. Knowlege of Fleetio is a plus.- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and job completion.- Daily write ups addressed to ensure our fleet is safe.- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics is preferred.- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic.- Proficiency in changing brakes, working on suspension systems, electrical work, hydraulic systems, troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and welding.- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Excellent communication and organizational skills.- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
