Carew Concrete & Supply Co., Inc. is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team at our Appleton facility to work on Heavy Equipment, primarily Loaders! This position is year round, full-time and will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing a wide range of needed major or minor, routine repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunityEssential Duties and Responsibilities Include:Receives work orders for requested fleet maintenance and repairs.Diagnoses specific issue(s) or problems and works with the Shop Supervisor to determine the most time and cost-effective method to fix, repair or resolve the problem.Communicates with the equipment operator and Shop Supervisor to gather and verify information and to advise the of expected repair time.Repair questions and suggestions are encouraged to be brought to the attention of the Shop Supervisor.Diagnose and repair/replace various parts/components that have failed or are causing malfunctions on the equipment, such as, but not limited to: transmissions, engines, drain lines, rear axles, gear boxes, springs, drive lines, operator compartments, fixed ladders and walkways, and other mechanical parts.Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems, hydraulic components, repair problems on steering systems, and make needed repairs on the brake system of all equipment.Service equipment, including grease trucks and related equipment, change oil / fluids; welding of components necessary for the repair of equipment and/or fabrication of components/parts necessary for the repair of the equipment.Operate cutting torches and gas welding equipment, miscellaneous shop tools and equipment.Wear appropriate PPE for the task being performed.Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.Completes required paperwork timely and accurately.Work effectively with co-workers; team work to troubleshoot issues as neededRespond to service calls and fix equipment onsite or coordinate other actions for equipment to be fixed.Follow all environmental regulations. Dispose of chemicals, trash, etc. in designated areas. Recycle when required.
