*Deputy Sheriff II - Lateral *Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.*Up to $30,000 Signing Bonus**Location:* Napa, CA*Employer:* County of Napa - Sheriff's Office*Job Type:* Full-Time*About the Role:*The Napa County Sheriff's Office is seeking experienced law enforcement professionals to join our team as a *Deputy Sheriff II - Lateral*. This lateral position is for certified peace officers with prior law enforcement experience who are ready to continue serving their communities in a dynamic county setting. As a Deputy Sheriff II, you will enforce laws, protect life and property, and serve the residents of Napa County with integrity and professionalism.*Salary & Signing Bonus:** Competitive annual salary range (approximately *$122,574.40 - $147,160.00*).* *Signing bonus up to $30,000* for eligible lateral hires "” amount based on prior service. Half of the bonus is paid within the first three pay periods and the remainder after successful completion of probation or 12 months of employment, whichever comes first.*Key Responsibilities:** Maintain law and order; enforce State and local laws.* Patrol assigned areas and respond to calls for service.* Conduct criminal investigations, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.* Provide court security, serve civil processes, warrants, and legal documents.* Engage with the community and represent the Sheriff's Office professionally.* Ability to perform a variety of specialized assignments as required (e.g., investigations, traffic enforcement).*Minimum Qualifications:** Certified *California peace officer* or equivalent lateral experience.* Must meet Napa County Sheriff's Office hiring requirements, including background investigation, physical and psychological exams, and other law enforcement pre-employment screenings.* Possess a valid California Driver's License.* Minimum age requirements and eligibility as defined by the department.*Benefits & Incentives:** Up to *$30,000 signing bonus* for qualified lateral officers.* Competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement, leave accruals, and more (details provided during hiring process).* *Veterans' Preference* will be applied where applicable.*Community & Work Environment:*Napa County offers a high quality of life in the heart of California's premier wine region.
