As a safety net hospital, MetroHealth plays an essential role in the region, caring for anyone and everyone, regardless of an ability to pay.Primary Patient Population:Underserved population in the Greater Cleveland areaTrauma PatientsStroke PatientsCancer PatientsSupports Research InitiativesPrimary skills utilized/learned:Knowledge of human anatomy and physiologyNeuro, MSK, abdominothoracic, and cardiac anatomyIV StartsProduces quality MRI images in a variety of settingsOpportunity to learn advanced MRI imaging techniques such as Cardiac and Breast MRIPatient scheduling and coordination for inpatients and outpatientMaintain the integrity of safety measures required within a MRI environment including implant investigationEducating patients regarding MRI safety and screening process ,procedures, equipment, and examination to maintain basic understanding and comfort.On the spot critical thinkingEffective communication skillsFunctions well under stress and with minimal supervisionWorks well both independently and as part of the MRI TeamPersonnel MRI Tech will work with:The MRI staff work closely with Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists and other care team members throughout the hospital to provide the best care possible for all MetroHealth patients.Locations:Glick Center:Brand new Siemens Vida 3.0 T and Sola 1.5 T magnetsMiddleburg Heights:Open Hitachi MRIParma:GE 1.5 TW150th:Siemens 1.5 TAwards or Recognitions the unit has received:All MRI scanners are ACR AccreditedMRI Technologist Role:All MRI Technologists credentialed through ARRT or ARMRITPerforms a variety of technical procedures utilizing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanning equipment in the diagnosis of diseases in humans.Provides a safe and supporting care environment for patients undergoing procedures involving the use of MRI, while assisting the radiologists and nursing staff during those procedures.Functions in a multi-purpose role depending on the needs of the patients and the department, and in line with The MetroHealth System approved policies and procedures in accordance with specific governing ODH regulations.Qualifications:Required:Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/MRI programARRT MRI or American Registry or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) credential or obtains within one year of employment. Cross training support is providedBLS Certification from the AHA or obtains during the standard probationary period.Preferred:Previous MRI experienceAdvanced certification through the ARRT or ARMRIT in MRIRegistered Radiology Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARMRITGood background and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomyPhysical Requirements:May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.May need to lift, pull or push over 50 lbs.May need to sit or stand for extended periods.See in the normal visual range with or without correction. xijylhu Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
