Position Summary:Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.The Respiratory Support Technician provides comprehensive direct and indirect patient care services across home, office, and hospital environments in accordance with all governmental, accrediting, and organizational policies and procedures. This role ensures patients receive appropriate goods and services in the most efficient and satisfactory manner possible while serving as a subject matter expert, conducting new hire training, and mentoring team members.The lead specialist serves as a subject matter expert, conducts new hire training and mentor to the team. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:Patient Care & Service DeliveryCollaborate with Respiratory Department Staff, CPAP/BIPAP Program Managers, and Operations Managers to provide equipment instruction, service, and troubleshooting for respiratory patientsSet up and fit PAP patients with appropriate equipment and masksConduct patient follow-up calls and visits to ensure optimal care outcomesCommunicate instructions and processes to patients in a professional, informative, and appropriate mannerContact clinical support when urgent patient needs are identified during home visitsEquipment Management & MaintenancePerform routine preventative maintenance checks and simple repairs per company policy and manufacturer guidelinesTroubleshoot equipment failures with patience and professionalismReport equipment hazards and product incidents in accordance with company policies and proceduresMaintain working knowledge of current Respiratory Programs and HME products and servicesDocumentation & ComplianceComplete all required company, insurance, and government paperwork accurately and timely, including: Delivery tickets and safety checklist formsPatient booklet receipts, ABNs, and AMAsEquipment-specific instruction and cleaning formsDevelop and maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper documentation for billing purposesMaintain patient confidentiality and operate within HIPAA guidelinesComplete assigned compliance training and educational programsMaintain compliance with AdaptHealth's Compliance ProgramSafety & Quality AssuranceAdhere to procedures for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handlingAssist with implementation of quality improvement programs to meet company standardsPromote services and products to community referral sources as appropriateLead, Respiratory Support Technician - All Level 1 and 2 duties plus:Serves as subject matter expert and primary resource for teamConducts new hire training and mentors team membersHandles escalated calls and complex issues with appropriate follow-upIdentifies root causes of service issues and collaborates on process improvementsPrepares reports for leadership and other departmentsSupports departmental standards and Patient Experience initiativesAssists with task coordination and ensures adherence to workflowsCollaborate with supervisor on performance metrics and service excellenceAssist with implementation of quality improvement programs to meet company policies.Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.Maintains compliant with AdaptHealth's Compliance Program.Perform other related duties as assigned.Competency, Skills, and Abilities:Equipment repair or maintenance skillsProficiency with computer systems and database applicationsUnderstanding of basic medical terminologyKnowledge of insurance verification processesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work under time constraints and manage multiple prioritiesWritten and verbal communication skillsProfessional demeanor in patient and staff interactionsCommitment to confidentiality and data security protocolsEducation and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredWork-related construction, general manual labor, military and equipment repair, or maintenance skills would be considered related experienceExact job experience is considered any of the above tasks in a Medicare certified HME environment that routinely bills insurance.Knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME services preferred.Valid and unrestricted driver's license from state of residenceSpecialist Level: (Entry Level):One (1) year of work-related experienceSenior Level:One (1) year of work-related experience plusTwo (2) years exact job experienceLead Level:One (1) year of work-related experience plusFour (4) years exact job experiencePhysical Demands and Work Environment:Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands and/or fingers due to extensive computer use.Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate.Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, direct, or indirect contact with airborne, bloodborne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogenMay be exposed to angry or irate customers, patients, or referral sources.Ability to utilize a personal computer and other office equipment.Assist in pulling a patient with a weight of approximately 130 pounds to a sitting position.Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed.Mental alertness to perform the essential functions of position.
