Deck & Sons, a division of the H&K Group, Inc. is looking for 2nd Shift Shop Lead Mechanic to guide mechanics in the proper repair and servicing of all company owned assets, including electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and equipment. Competitive salary commensurate with experience100% Company-paid Health Benefits401(k) Savings and Investment PlanTuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programsAdditional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and moreResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all work adhering to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policiesPerforms all duties of employees supervised as requiredPerforms repairs, services, inspections, and DVIRAssigns tasks to mechanicsDirects workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of trucks and equipmentCommunicates with supervisors and operations personnel in the event of an unscheduled repair requirement that would lead to the loss of use of any truck or piece of equipmentMaintains requisitions and supply of spare partsEnforces all company policies and proceduresMaintains a safe, clean, non-bias shopMaintains shop to comply with all MSHA and OSHA regulationsMaintains all licensed equipment and vehicles to comply with DOT regulationsResponsible for all mechanics at that facilityProvides a dependable, safe asset repaired in a cost-effective mannerOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Skills, Education, and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institutionOne-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredTwo years of supervisory experienceClass A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one yearClean driving recordState Inspection License Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job) Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience4 years of related experience and/or trainingState Inspection licenseExperience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarriesOSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications Physical DemandsFrequently required to:Stand, walk, sit Use hands to finger, handle, feel, and graspReach with hands and armsTalk or hearClimb, balance, crawl, stoop, crouch, kneel, Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Work EnvironmentRegularly exposed to:Moving mechanical partsFumes or airborne particlesOccasionally exposed to:Wet/humid conditionsOutside weather including extreme cold and heatRisk of electrical shockHigh, precarious placesNoise level is usually moderate The H&K Group, Inc. provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
