Data Analysis Supervisor 2 Oakland, CA, Job ID 83801You could be just the right applicant for this job Read all associated information and make sure to apply.University of California Agriculture and Natural ResourcesJob DescriptionPosition Summary:Under the supervision of NPI's Director, the Data Analysis Supervisor 2 will function as an advisor to the unit on study design and analytical methods for research and evaluation studies focused on a range of nutrition and physical activity policies and programs and will supervise NPI's Data Analyst Section. Responsibilities include designing research methods and analysis plans; collecting, managing, and analyzing quantitative data; disseminating findings to internal and external stakeholders; and managing and overseeing project timelines and deliverables. This position will manage the workload, professional development, and performance management of 3-7 research data analysts and staff research associates, as well as survey workers and students as needed.Department Summary:The Nutrition Policy Institute (NPI) is a statewide institute within the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of California. NPI conducts and translates policy-relevant research to transform environments for healthy children, families, and communities. We are home to approximately 30-40 academic, staff and student employees located in the UCOP offices in Oakland and other locations.This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.The home department is the Nutrition Policy Institute (NPI). While this position normally is based in Oakland, CA, this position is eligible for hybrid flexible work arrangements for applicants living in the State of California at this time. Please note that hybrid flexible work arrangements are subject to change by the University.Pay Scale: $112,400.00/year to $163,200.00/yearJob Posting Close Date:This job is open until filled. The first application review date will be 2/23/2026.Key Responsibilities:Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biostatics or related area, or equivalent work experience and / or training.Experience supervising, mentoring, advising, or training on statistical methods and analysis techniques.Demonstrated project management experience.Solid experience conducting statistical analysis and system programming using SAS, Stata, SPSS, R or other statistical software.Experience in advanced statistical methods for complex survey data, including general estimating equations, multilevel modeling/hierarchical analysis, multiple imputation, latent class analysis.Experience in advanced data management techniques, such as macros and SQL programming.Experience conducting spatial analysis and geocoding using ArcGIS or other geospatial software.Demonstratable skill and experience with data visualization and presenting data in accessible formats.Solid skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.Strong organizational, written and oral communication and problem solving skills.Preferred Skills:Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatics.Experience disseminating research findings through peer-reviewed journals and presentations at professional conferences.Familiarity with federal food and nutrition program, especially SNAP, WIC, and child feeding programs.Knowledge of nutrition, physical activity and obesity measurement and its analysis.Experience with reliability and validity testing dietary assessment methods or other survey instruments.Experience designing or consulting on the design of research studies and/or evaluations.Experience designing surveys assessing dietary, physical activity, and/or weight-related outcomes.Special Conditions of Employment:Must possess valid California Driver's License to drive a County or University vehicle. Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability damage insurance on vehicle used is required. Reimbursement of job-related travel will be reimbursed according to University policies.The University reserves the right to make employment contingent upon successful completion of the background check.
