*Location: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Lansing, MI*Is this your next job Read the full description below to find out, and do not hesitate to make an application.*Employment Type: Full-time OR Part-time**Reports To: Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer**Note: *Both major hospital systems in our region do not offer any part-time positions for physicians. They require all physicians to be full-time. In addition to offering full-time employment, Care Free Medical is also offering part-time positions in order to make ourselves more appealing and more accommodating for people who still want to utilize their training as family physicians but who don't necessarily want to work full-time, whether that's due to pursuing other interests, raising children, or anything else! We are willing to hire you as a W-2 employee or a 1099 contractor, whichever you prefer.*Position Summary:*The Physician provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to individuals and families across the lifespan in a Federally Qualified Health Center. This role emphasizes high-quality, culturally competent, and accessible care for underserved and medically diverse populations. The physician works as part of an interdisciplinary care team to promote preventive care, manage acute and chronic conditions, and support overall community health.*Key Responsibilities:*Provide comprehensive primary care services, including preventive, acute, and chronic care, to patients of all agesAssist in overseeing resident physicians (from UM-Sparrow and McLaren Greater Lansing) and medical students (from Michigan State University) who rotate through our clinicDiagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelinesPerform routine office procedures, if desiredManage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, and mental health conditionsProvide health education, counseling, and preventive screeningsCoordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and community resourcesPatient-Centered & Team-Based CareDeliver care using a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) or team-based care modelCollaborate with medical assistants, behavioral health providers, care coordinators, and other staffAddress social determinants of health and connect patients to supportive servicesEnsure culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and equitable care*Documentation & Compliance:*Maintain timely and accurate medical records in our EHR (We use Epic as a Community Connect Site through UM-Sparrow Hospital)Comply with FQHC, HRSA, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirementsHelp lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical performance measures*Community & Organizational Engagement:*Support the mission and values of the FQHC in serving underserved populationsParticipate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing medical educationMay participate in community outreach, health education events, or teaching activities*Compensation & Benefits:*We offer a competitive salary in comparison to other FQHCs -- we cannot outbid big hospital systems but working for us is much more enjoyable than working for a hospital-owned group practice!Eligibility for federal loan repayment programsMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysCME allowance and malpractice coverage (including tail-coverage)*Requirements**Qualifications Required:*Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degreeCompletion of an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency programBoard certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal MedicineActive and unrestricted xijylhu medical license (or ability to obtain licensure)DEA registration (or eligibility)Commitment to working with underserved and diverse populationsComfort in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, including, but not limited to, MDD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSDDedication to serving the underserved*Qualifications Preferred:*Experience working in an FQHC, community health center, or safety-net setting either as an attending or as a residentExperience with, or willingness to learn, value-based care, quality metrics, or population healthStrong clinical and diagnostic skills across the lifespanExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with patients who have limited resourcesCommitment to health equity, cultural humility, and patient advocacyJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, ContractPay: $240,000.00 - $260,000.00 per yearExpected hours: 2 per weekBenefits:* 403(b)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Loan repayment program* Malpractice insurance* Paid time off* Professional development assistance* Travel reimbursement* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
