Find your future with us.The Boeing Additive Manufacturing and Advanced Metals Team is seeking an experienced Enterprise MetalsSenior Manager (L- Level Manager) to lead our metals development portfolio and multi-site, metals development teams. The selected candidate will report to the Boeing Additive Manufacturing and Advanced Metals director, within the Boeing Technology Innovation (BTI) Materials and Structures organization. This role requires proficiency in leading geographically diverse teams with competencies in metallic materials, manufacturing technologies, program management, supply chain integration and business unit integration.Position ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the enterprise metals strategy that aligns with Boeing's business priorities, product programs, and long-term material roadmaps.Lead research and development and readiness level (RL) maturation of metallic material systems, partnering with the business units, CTO organizations and external partners Influence enterprise-level decisions through technical assessments, risk analyses, trade studies, and cost/benefit evaluations.Lead a cross-functional team of metallurgists, materials engineers, subject matter experts, and technical leads responsible for metals development, qualification, testing, and lifecycle management.Support metals qualification and certification activities to meet FAA/DoD and international regulatory requirementsFoster relationships with external partners including suppliers, research institutions, standards bodies, and industry consortia to shape and adopt best practices and emerging technologies.Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation for the enterprise metals organization; set priorities and measure technical program performance using KPIs.Manage, develop, and motivate employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of materials development, materials production hardening, and business unit supportBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.10+ years of experience in leading teams in the areas of metallics development and materials integration in aerospace or defense.Demonstrated experience building and executing technology roadmapsDeep knowledge of metallic systems, including processing (e.g., forging, casting, AM), performance behavior, and qualification)Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to influence across business units and technical domains.Experience with program management excellence principles, including Earned Value Management (EVM)Preferred QualificationsMaster's or PhD in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering.15+ years of experience in metallics development and materials integration in aerospace or defense.Experience with FAA and other airworthiness Certification/regulatory requirementsExperience in leading cross-functional teams through full lifecycle development-from concept to flight certification.Exceptional interpersonal skill and self-sufficient ability to lead teams, including coaching and mentoring.Experience acting strategically and tactically to support successful project completionCreative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsTravel10%Drug Free WorkplaceBoeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & BenefitsAt Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
