This is a critical, highly technical role for someone who is currently hands-on with modern infrastructure, networking, VMware, and cybersecurity tools.*ABOUT THE ROLE:*The IT Manager will be a key contributor to IT operations, with a heavy focus on hands-on engineering, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. You will support and secure a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment while owning daily security operations, major technical projects, and escalated issues.This role requires someone who is actively doing the work today; investigating alerts, configuring systems, maintaining VMware environments, and responding to real incidents. This is not a "set it and forget it" environment.*JOB DETAILS:** 100% Onsite in Roseville, MN* Full-Time, Direct Hire* Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm* Salary: $125,000 - $140,000+ (depending on experience)*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ** Design, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure (Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory, networking).* Administer and optimize VMware environments, including ESXi clusters, vCenter, HA/DRS, storage, and VMware Horizon View (VDI).* Perform daily hands-on cybersecurity operations, including alert investigation, incident response, and breach mitigation.* Manage and operate advanced security tools including CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Abnormal Security, Vectra AI, Microsoft Defender, and SonicWALL firewalls.* Investigate logs and alerts across endpoints, identity, email, and network traffic - every alert is reviewed and validated.* Approve application elevations, access requests, and security policy changes while maintaining least-privilege principles.* Maintain and update security policies, firmware, and configurations as standards evolve.* Lead and support major initiatives including software rewrite projects, custom/homegrown application support, Azure storage projects, and infrastructure upgrades.* Design and execute network expansions, office buildouts, and hardware deployments across multiple locations.* Serve as escalation point for complex helpdesk issues and participate in after-hours on-call rotation.* Develop documentation including runbooks, escalation paths, and security standards.* Evaluate and onboard third-party vendors for managed services, backups, and tooling.*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.* 7+ years of experience in Network Engineering / IT Infrastructure roles.* 3+ years in a senior or lead-level technical role.* 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience (incident response, breach prevention, security tooling).* Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, and Horizon View (VDI).* Experience supporting hybrid environments (Azure/Entra ID + on-prem).* Proven experience with modern security tools such as CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Microsoft Defender, Abnormal Security, or similar.* Demonstrated experience leading technical projects such as migrations, buildouts, or system integrations.*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** VMware certifications (VCP-DTM, VCP-NV, or equivalent).* CCNA, Azure certifications, or CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+).* Experience working in mixed PC and Mac environments.*TO APPLY:*Please upload your resume to this job posting.
