Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A specialized opportunity is available for a registered nurse with expertise in neuro stepdown care. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care on a 30-bed unit focused on neuro/neurosurgical, cardiac, renal, and med/surg patients, including those with complex conditions such as stable arrhythmias and post-pacemaker care.Location:Situated in Troy, Ohio, this position offers exposure to a dynamic healthcare environment serving a diverse patient population. Troy is known for its welcoming community, combining small-town charm with accessible amenities and cultural attractions, making it an excellent place for professionals seeking a balanced lifestyle.Position Details:Contract role36 or 48 hours per week guaranteed to work (GTE)12-hour day shifts, every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)Neuro experience preferred, with NIHSS certification requiredDysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications mandatoryUnit ratio typically 1:5-6 (subject to staffing)Responsibilities:Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plansAdminister medications and manage IV drips, oxygen therapy (including stable trachs, BiPAP, CPAP)Coordinate patient care and provide education in collaboration with interdisciplinary teamsManage critically ill patients with multi-system organ failure, neurological deficits, and complex conditionsAdvocate for patient safety and quality improvement initiativesRespond effectively to rapidly changing clinical conditions using advanced clinical judgmentQualifications/Desired Experience:Current RN license in good standing or compact state coverageMinimum one year RN experience, preferably with at least six months in acute careBLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferredCritical care or progressive care certification is a plusExperience with EPIC EHR preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skills essentialAdditional Information:Navy blue scrubs requiredExposure to complex patient populations requiring critical thinking and resilienceOpportunity to develop professional skills within a supportive and stimulating environmentThis contract position is ideal for nurses with neuro stepdown experience who are looking for an engaging role with a reputable medical team. xijylhu If you meet these qualifications and are ready to contribute your expertise in a challenging and rewarding setting, please apply to take the next step in your nursing career.
