Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A specialized opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with stepdown and neurological care experience to deliver critical patient care at a 30-bed unit focused on neuro, neurosurgical, cardiac, renal, and med/surg patients. This contract position requires dedication to managing complex cases, including stable arrhythmias, post-pacemaker care, and multi-system organ failure support. Ideal candidates bring relevant neuro stepdown expertise and advanced certifications, committed to high standards of patient safety and multidisciplinary collaboration.Location:Xenia, Ohio offers a welcoming community with convenient access to urban amenities and natural beauty, providing a balanced environment for work and relaxation.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, create and evaluate individualized care plansAdminister medications safely and manage IV drips including Heparin and IV blood pressure medicationsCoordinate care across hospital departments serving as a patient advocateManage patients requiring oxygen therapy, including stable tracheostomies and high flow oxygenParticipate actively in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety advocacyUtilize clinical judgment to respond swiftly to changing patient conditionsSupport patients and families through complex illness challenges with compassionate careQualifications & Desired Experience:Current RN license with compact state eligibility, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredOne year of RN experience with at least six months in an acute care hospital setting preferredNeuro stepdown or neurosciences experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)Experience with electronic health records (preferably EPIC) and relevant critical care coursesAbility to handle advanced respiratory modalities and cardiac monitoring, including transvenous pacingSchedule:12-hour day shifts, every other weekend and every other holidayAdditional Details:Patient:nurse ratios typically range 1:5-6 but may varyUniform: Navy blue scrubsThis position does not accept local candidates and requires willingness to relocate or travelThis contract role offers professional challenges and the opportunity to impact critically ill patients lives with advanced nursing care. xijylhu Qualified nurses ready to advance their stepdown and neurological nursing career are encouraged to apply promptly.
