Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A full-time 1:1 Pediatric Registered Nurse is needed to provide specialized care for a medically fragile student in a school setting in Joliet, IL. This contract assignment supports a K8 student who requires continuous nursing assistance throughout the school day and during the morning bus commute. The nurse will also assist with classroom academics as needed.Location: Joliet, IllinoisPosition Type: Contract, Full-TimeSetting: School-based pediatric nursing, one-to-one student supportKey Responsibilities:Provide direct 1:1 nursing care for a medically fragile pediatric studentAccompany the student on the morning bus ride (approx. 510 minutes) from home to schoolManage pediatric ventilator care, including understanding ventilator settings and troubleshooting alarmsPerform suctioning, bagging, and trach care including trach changes and HME useHandle equipment and connection managementImplement emergency response procedures promptlyManage GT feeding using enteral pumps, prepare feeds, and administer water flushesAssist with student positioning, transfers, incontinence management, and skin checksSupport classroom academic activities as neededProperly don and doff Ankle-Foot Orthoses (AFOs)Qualifications and Experience:Active State-Issued Registered Nurse (RN) LicenseProfessional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement from Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)Proven proficiency in pediatric ventilator care and tracheostomy managementExperience with enteral feeding and emergency nursing procedures in pediatric settingsAbility to work in a fast-paced school environment and maintain professional collaborationThis contract position offers the opportunity to provide highly impactful nursing care within a school community, focusing on health management and educational support.Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately to support this medically fragile student in a dedicated educational setting.Compensation for this position ranges from $29.67 to $45.00.
