Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Providing dedicated nursing support in a school environment, this full-time 1:1 Pediatric Nursing position involves working closely with a medically fragile student in a non-clinical, K8 school setting in Naperville, IL. The nurse will accompany the student on the morning bus and offer comprehensive care during the school day, including assistance with classroom academics as needed.Key Responsibilities:Deliver specialized pediatric ventilator care and manage ventilator settingsPerform suctioning, bagging, and troubleshooting of ventilator alarmsConduct tracheostomy care, including trach changes and HME managementManage equipment connections and handle emergency response protocolsAdminister gastrostomy tube (GT) feedings using enteral pumps and maintain water flushesAssist with student positioning, transfers, incontinence care, and skin checksSupport donning and doffing of Ankle-Foot Orthoses (AFOs)Collaborate with educational staff to support classroom activities as appropriateQualifications and Experience:Active, state-issued Registered Nurse (RN) licenseProfessional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)Proficiency in pediatric ventilator care and associated emergency proceduresExperience with trach care and enteral feeding managementAbility to provide compassionate and attentive support to medically fragile studentsLocation:School-based setting in Naperville, IL, with a short bus commute alongside the student each morningThis contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a student's health and academic experience within a supportive educational environment.
