This role focuses on delivering high quality, patient centered care to adults with both oncologic and hematologic conditions in a collaborative, well supported outpatient setting.The Godwin Healing Center is a Duke Cancer Network affiliate, providing access to evidence-based protocols, advanced research, and nationally recognized best practices. This affiliation supports ongoing physician education and ensures care delivery is aligned with the latest standards in oncology and hematology.CMC is committed to continued growth, innovation, and quality outcomes within its cancer care service line, with a strong emphasis on provider support and sustainable practice. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Diagnose and treat a wide range of oncologic and hematologic conditionsProvide comprehensive outpatient cancer care, including treatment planning and longitudinal managementManage benign and malignant blood disordersCollaborate closely with APPs, oncology nurses, and multidisciplinary teamsParticipate in tumor boards and coordinated care planning as appropriatePOSITION OVERVIEW:Outpatient role with some inpatient responsibilitiesStandard office hours (Mon-Fri / 8am-5pm)Protected administrative time (8 hours per week)Practice Call Schedule: Shared call schedule, 1:4 rotation for patient care needs through telephone calls also supported by after-hours nurse triage.Support Staff: The physician will have a team consisting of their own clinic support staff, an APP, and a robust specialized oncology nursing team.4 Physicians and 3 APPsCerner EMR with Dragon dictation + Ambient AI for chartingVISIT VOLUME AND CASE MIX:Visit types: Initial cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, chemotherapy follow-ups, and management of hematologic conditions like anemia and clotting disorders.Adult patient population with a broad range of cancers and hematologic disordersProcedures: Bone marrow biopsies, port insertions, etc.Approximate case mix of 40 percent oncology and 60 percent hematology, with flexibility based on physician experience and interestsFACILITIES & SUPPORT:Clinic/Facility: 10-chair infusion center, onsite lab and pharmacy, two additional infusion centers on campus (1 general/1 rheumatology)Imaging/Diagnostics: PET scanning, 64-slice CT, 3-D mammography, breast MRI, high-definition endoscopy/bronchoscopyTumor Boards: Bi-weekly for breast, PCC, GI, and ENTSurgical Referrals: Includes breast, colorectal, and vascular; Bone marrow transplants referred to Charleston (MUSC or Roper St Francis)ACGME Accredited: Medical students, CMC Family Medicine Residency, transitional year, Sports Medicine Fellowship programResearch & Trials: Currently no active clinical trials; aligned with Duke for access to approximately 450 protocolsCurrently undergoing submission to become accredited by The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.BENEFITS:$25k+ sign-on bonusCompetitive Compensation: Guaranteed base salary (typically MGMA median) with additional WRVU bonusesComprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, & vision; supplemental insurance options (short/long-term disability, accidental, cancer, life); retirement plans with employer match.Student Loan Repayment: Eligible for loan repayment assistance through the PSLF program, helping to manage and reduce student debt.CME Allowances: 5 days off a year / $3k a year + cover costs of licenses, dues, etc.Malpractice Insurance: Coverage provided by CMC.Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling and ample paid time off to ensure a healthy work-life balance (24 Days PTO). ABOUT CMC GODWIN HEALING CENTER:The CMC Godwin Healing Center provides advanced oncology services, including infusion therapy and palliative care.
