Job DescriptionAre you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.The Department of Veterans Affairs Houston Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Staff Psychologist with an addiction  and substance-use treatment disorder background  for the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. The psychologist will provide direct patient contact including, but not limited to: case management, psychological assessment and treatment planning, individual psychotherapy/assessment sessions, family/caregiver stress therapy sessions, and other evidenced based treatments for serious mental illness. The psychologist will perform evaluations of patients with an addiction and substance abuse  disorders.Work Schedule: Mon, Tues, Thurs ,Fr 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and Wed 11:30am-8pmWe offer:Likely starting base salary range: $133,194-173,145Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP)Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans up to $200K over 5 years maxMalpractice: Liability protection13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per yearFederal Retirement PlanSeparate 401K with partial agency matchHealth, Dental & Vision InsuranceQualifications:Must be a U.S. Citizen Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. StateDoctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American xijylhu Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)Completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPAEducation or experience with providing care to individuals with Serious Mental Illness (Preferred)Must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health of our veterans.
