Job DescriptionPlease read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.Denver Health, the premier teaching hospital and safety net institution for the city of Denver and entire Rocky Mountain region, in collaboration with the University of Colorado, is seeking a cardiothoracic radiologist at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor, depending on level of experience. The ideal candidate will have a record of clinical excellence, strong teaching abilities, and scholarly interests. Epic secure chat approved for communication of critical results and other findings.Integrated Aidoc which triages/flags positive studies and provides confidence for negative studies.Substantial and competitive CME and benefits packages (see below).Highly supportive departmental and institutional leadership committed to individual career development on either clinical or academic promotion track.Opportunities for operational and academic leadership at the hospital or SOM for motivated candidates.Position Summary:The candidate being sought will participate primarily in the interpretation of cardiothoracic and body imaging studies, including coronary CTA and cardiac MRI. Given the volume and strength of the ED and trauma service at Denver Health, there is an emphasis on providing advanced, cutting edge, and highly collaborative care in the acute setting. In addition to the imaging services currently offered, Denver Health seeks to continuously improve and innovate.Denver Health radiologists participate in the education of University of Colorado medical students, radiology and IR/DR residents, and fellows. There is a strong desire to continue to expand our educational offerings.The Department values patient-centered care and a highly collaborative work environment. There is a strong working relationship with cardiology, thoracic surgery, emergency medicine, trauma surgery, hospital medicine, and other hospital-based specialties.Reporting Structure:The radiologist will report to the Department Chair of Radiology with direct mentorship and supervision from the Chief of Body Imaging. The department benefits from excellent administrative support. Most radiology staff (technologists, radiology RNs, transporters, etc.) report within the department, not to an external hierarchy, so there is alignment of staff and faculty towards the goals of the department.Candidate Qualifications:Education/Academic Credentials:D., D.O. or foreign equivalent medical degree; board certification in Radiology; fellowship training preferred with experience in cardiothoracic radiology and/or body imaging; eligibility for licensure in Colorado.New graduates and experienced radiologists are encouraged to apply.Experience:Candidates should be competent in all imaging modalities, including basic fluoroscopy (though uncommon and performed by a resident).The ideal candidate will be competent in interpretating general ED studies in on-call environment, including radiography, CT, US, and MRI modalities.Prior record of academic or educational scholarship is preferred.Experience in teaching students and/or trainees is preferred.Position Details, Salary, and Benefits:Denver Health offers full benefits, including an attractive 401(a) Social Security replacement savings program, a 457(b) retirement savings program, and employer matching contributions (9.5%).
