Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Provide critical care in a high-acuity Emergency Department supporting patients across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics. This contract opportunity in Oneida, NY offers a dynamic environment handling complex cases such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, and cardiac arrests. The role requires strong clinical skills and experience in pediatrics and emergency nursing, with advanced certifications to ensure excellence in patient care.Location Overview:Oneida is a vibrant community nestled in central New York, featuring rich historical roots and access to scenic outdoor recreation. The local healthcare facilities serve a diverse population, making it an engaging place to apply emergency nursing expertise.Responsibilities:Deliver direct nursing care to patients with a wide range of emergent conditions.Manage rapid assessment and intervention for stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and other critical situations.Administer and titrate advanced medications including pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi), vasodilators (Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Amiodarone, Lido), and sedation agents (Propofol, Fentanyl).Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun for patient support.Collaborate with team members in a 64-bed unit comprised of acute care, trauma, psych, and observation beds.Provide care across all age groups including pediatric and neonatal patients.Floating within the department as needed and potentially assume charge nurse responsibilities.Document care accurately in EPIC EMR per facility standards.Qualifications & Desired Experience:Current, active New York RN license verified via NURSYS report.Minimum 2+ years emergency department experience with pediatric exposure.Proven travel nursing experience is required; local candidates within 75 miles also eligible.Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHS, and TNCC required.Familiarity with documentation, specialty equipment, advanced cardiac life support, and emergency medications.Valid drivers license with address matching submitted demographics.Submission must include RTO, updated resume demonstrating specialty skills, and 2 recent ED charge/manager RN references.Shift & Schedule:10:30 AM to 11:00 PM shift hours.Block scheduling is not guaranteed.This contract position offers the chance to apply advanced critical care nursing in a well-respected emergency unit with a supportive environment and complex cases.
