Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An opportunity is available for an experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse specializing in adult and geriatric care. This contract position is based in Gastonia, NC, and focuses on delivering comprehensive care across several med-surg and med-tele units designed to support emergency and specialized services within the hospital. Located near urban centers with access to beautiful outdoor spaces, Gastonia is ideal for professionals seeking a balanced lifestyle with rich cultural amenities and affordable living.Key Responsibilities:Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses such as COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, CHF exacerbations, PE, DVT, GI bleeds, and strokes.Provide care including cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, NGT placement, and various drain and tube maintenance.Administer medication drips (cardiac, heparin), blood products, and IVF.Collaborate with resource nurses, charge nurses, phlebotomy teams, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists.Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation each shift.Float within assigned regions as needed, adapting to multiple units and facilities.Qualifications/Desired Experience:Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience preferred.Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.Skilled in general Med/Tele nursing procedures including PCA pump management and peripheral IV starts.Ability to work flexible shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a) with every other weekend rotation and holiday work at 75%.Schedule/Hours:Shifts: 7 AM 7 PM and 7 PM 7 AMWeekend rotation every other weekendFloating within region required; traveler will be compensated for travel time between facilities while on the clockBenefits and Perks:Free parking onsiteSupportive departmental culture promoting teamwork and a family-like environmentComprehensive orientation including New Employee Orientation and 2-day departmental trainingThis contract position offers a specialized nursing role within a high-acuity, multi-disciplinary environment.
