Job DescriptionFor a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.Job DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Provide skilled nursing care in medical-surgical and telemetry units focused on supporting emergency department flow and specialty areas. This contract position is based in Charlotte, NC, with opportunities to float within the regional hospital network based on operational needs. A minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or Med/Tele RN experience is required.Key Responsibilities:Deliver patient-centered care to adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, CHF, falls, trauma, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTIs, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA.Perform clinical tasks such as cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, tracheostomy management, PIV starts, chest tube and drain care, PCA pumps, and medication drip management (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF).Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, resource nurses, secretaries, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists.Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors for effective documentation and patient monitoring.Monitor telemetry without tele tech support; primary nurse responsible for shift-based interpretation.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Active RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification.Minimum 2 years Med/Surg or Med/Tele nursing experience; stroke care and cardiac rhythm interpretation highly preferred.Ability and willingness to float across regional hospitals within scope of practice.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Resourcefulness in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.Schedule and Benefits:12-hour shifts, day (7a-7p) or night (7p-7a).Weekend rotation every other week.Holiday work approximately 75% of holidays.No call responsibilities.Free parking provided.Scrub color: Navy blue.Orientation includes a departmental new employee orientation (NEO).Contract role with approved time off considerations; time off may require contract extension.About Charlotte, NC:Charlotte is a vibrant metropolitan city known for its dynamic economy, cultural attractions, and Southern hospitality.
