Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A Med/Surg Registered Nurse is needed for a night shift position on the Resource Team at a well-established healthcare facility located in Lafayette, IN. This role requires floating across three Med/Surg units, providing care to patients recovering from orthopedic and general surgeries, as well as those with GI, renal, oncology, and other medical conditions. The facility features 27-30 beds per unit with patient ratios ranging from 1:5 to 1:6, supported by advanced equipment such as Alaris and Kangaroo pumps, vein lights, Pyxis medication systems, and Vocera communication devices. The electronic medical record system utilized is Epic.Responsibilities:Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients, including managing Heparin drips and administering blood products.Float among three Med/Surg units as needed to meet patient care demands.Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment safely and effectively.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.Maintain compliance with facility policies, dress code, and safety standards.Complete computerized training modules (CBTs) prior to clinical orientation.Demonstrate flexibility working night shifts (1800-0630), with every third weekend required.Qualifications & Desired Experience:Active RN license with at least 3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience.Previous travel nurse experience strongly preferred.Proficiency using Epic EMR system; Epic experience within one year allows testing out of additional training.Certification in BLS and NIHSS required.Familiarity with telemetry monitoring.Skills in orthopedic and general post-operative care preferred.Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when necessary.Comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment.Location Highlights:Lafayette, Indiana, offers a blend of Midwestern charm and modern conveniences.
