Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.This opportunity is for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with stepdown experience to provide exceptional care in a progressive care unit (PCU) environment. The role involves working 3 twelve-hour day shifts (7:00 a.m. 7:30 p.m.) with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. This contract position offers a chance to be part of a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital known for high standards in patient care.Location:Situated in Mount Pleasant, SC, this role supports a major healthcare facility renowned for its comprehensive transplant and medical-surgical services. The community offers a welcoming atmosphere, coastal living, and access to cultural and recreational opportunities typical of the South Carolina Lowcountry.Responsibilities:Provide direct nursing care to PCU patients, predominantly pre- and post-operative transplant (liver, kidney, kidney/pancreas), nephrology, and urology cases.Monitor patients using centralized and bedside monitoring systems.Float within clinical scope to meet staffing needs as required.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.Document patient care accurately utilizing EPIC electronic health records.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Active South Carolina RN license or a Multi-State/Compact RN license.Minimum of 1 year recent stepdown nursing experience; new graduates accepted.American Heart Association certifications: ACLS and BLS required.Flexibility to work every other weekend and holiday rotation.Ability to accommodate potential block scheduling with managerial approval.Willingness to engage in hospital emergency response protocols during hurricane season (JuneNovember).Additional Information:Solid royal blue or white scrub tops with royal blue bottoms required.Parking available via permit for a nominal $20 fee; additional parking fees may apply outside the main garage.Guaranteed hours with one allowable call-off per two-week period.Local candidates within 60 miles will be considered.This contract nursing opportunity is ideal for those who thrive in a dynamic, specialized care setting and value working with transplant and complex medical patients. xijylhu Apply today to contribute your expertise in a respected teaching hospital environment while experiencing the vibrant community of Mount Pleasant.
