Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with MedSurg expertise to work at a well-established academic medical center recognized as a Level 1 Trauma facility. This hospital features 885 licensed beds and specialized centers including Chest Pain and Stroke Centers. The position is contract-based and located in Greensboro, NC, offering a chance to work in an advanced clinical setting fostering professional growth.Key Responsibilities:Provide skilled nursing care on a 20-bed MedSurg/Telemetry Unit, including patients with CHF, COPD, kidney/liver/GI/respiratory issues, infections, wounds, CIWA patients, and more.Manage patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.Administer treatments involving trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, and central line blood draws.Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage non-titrating drips such as Heparin, Lasix, and Protonix; experience with Cardizem and Amiodarone is preferred but not required.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, residents, RTs, and CNAs to optimize patient outcomes.Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Minimum 2 years of MedSurg nursing experience required.Current RN license with BLS and ACLS certifications.Competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, wound care, and IV therapy.Ability to work night shifts (1830-0700) with weekend rotations every other week.First-time travelers are not considered for this position.Work Schedule & Perks:Night shift with no on-call requirements.Holiday work expectation is 50%.Schedule is managed in six-week increments with flexibility to plug into available shifts.Free parking provided.Support from CNAs, charge nurses, and 24/7 hospitalist and resident coverage.About Greensboro, NC:Greensboro offers a vibrant mix of cultural attractions, parks, and dining options.
