Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Registered Nurse Emergency DepartmentLocation: Asheboro, NCJob Type: Contract (Travelers must reside at least 50 miles away from home unit)A busy emergency department with 16 beds is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of ED experience. This unit specializes in caring for both pediatric and adult patients presenting a range of diagnosessuch as COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, stroke, minor trauma, and cardiac arrhythmiasin a facility recognized as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The environment offers an excellent opportunity for nurses familiar with critical care interventions and emergency protocols.Responsibilities:Conduct patient assessments using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) and provide direct nursing careInterpret cardiac rhythms and manage critical care drips, ventilation, and chest tubesAdminister medications including TNK/TPA and conscious sedation as orderedCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, RTs, hospitalists, and physiciansUtilize EMR systems (Epic), IV pumps (Alaris), med dispensing units (Omnicell), and patient monitors (Phillips) efficientlyFloat within a defined regions facilities when required, with paid travel time during shiftsQualifications and Desired Experience:Current RN licensureBLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI certifications required; TNCC preferredMinimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experienceCompetence in general ED skill set including cardiac rhythm interpretation, PIV starts, and ventilation managementAbility to work flexible shifts and float within the regions healthcare facilitiesAdditional Details:Patient ratios generally 1:4-5 based on acuityDepartmental orientation with 2 days of in-unit training providedNavy scrubs required; free parking availableAbout Asheboro, NC:Nestled in the heart of North Carolina, Asheboro offers a welcoming community surrounded by natural beauty, including nearby parks and outdoor activities.
