Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Provide specialized nursing care on a medical-surgical unit, focusing on adult post-surgical patients with varied diagnoses including abdominal pain, osteoarthritis, fractures, and bariatric surgery recovery. Support patient recovery using specialty equipment such as IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes, while operating within a dynamic unit environment. Flexibility to float to other units as needed and adherence to scheduled shifts are essential.Key Responsibilities:Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adults recovering from surgery on a medical-surgical unitUtilize specialty equipment including IV pumps, feeding tubes, and N/G tubes effectivelyMonitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomesMaintain accurate documentation within the EPIC electronic medical records systemFloat to other units as required, adapting to various clinical settingsAdhere to shift schedules: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM; block scheduling not guaranteedQualifications and Experience:Current, active NY State RN license plus active licenses in all states listed on NURSYS reportMinimum of 2 years recent medical-surgical nursing experienceProven travel nursing experience with supporting documentationValid drivers license with address matching demographicsCurrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationProficient with EPIC EMR systemSubmission must include an updated resume, drivers license, BLS, RN licenses, NURSYS report, and Return to Office (RTO) documentationLocation Insights:Located in Utica, NY, this opportunity offers the chance to work in a vibrant community with rich cultural heritage and access to scenic outdoor activities.
