Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A nursing opportunity is available in a stepdown/PCU unit caring for a diverse patient population requiring advanced clinical skills and critical thinking. This contract position is based in Murfreesboro, TN, and offers the chance to work with complex cases in a dynamic healthcare environment.Responsibilities:Provide nursing care for patients requiring continuous BiPAP, low-dose vasopressors, and those recovering from trauma and surgeries such as craniotomies and carotid endarterectomies (CEA)Manage patients with complex electrolyte imbalances including hyponatremia and hyperkalemia, emergency dialysis, and antifreeze ingestion casesAdminister and monitor sedatives and drips such as Precedex and Fentanyl carefully, including patients with CIWA protocols on higher doses of AtivanPerform procedures like sheath removal and care for patients with home ventilators and tracheostomiesConduct frequent neurological assessments (Q2 neuro checks) for stroke patientsMaintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1, ensuring thorough attention to each patient's needsQualifications:Current RN license with stepdown or progressive care unit experienceStrong clinical decision-making skills with experience managing complex critical care patientsAbility to handle high-acuity cases including trauma, neuro, and cardiac patientsFamiliarity with administering and titrating advanced medications and dripsExcellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate efficiently with multidisciplinary teamsLocation Overview:Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is a vibrant city with a blend of small-town charm and growing metropolitan amenities.
