Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses to support night shifts in the Adult Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) holding unit at a renowned medical center in Syracuse, NY. This contract position requires ICU expertise and prefers candidates with ED experience. The role involves working every other weekend and some holidays, with set schedules and limited extended time off.Key Qualifications and Experience:Current New York State RN registration.Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) with the ability to maintain certification.Minimum 1.5 years recent acute care experience within the past 2 years at a hospital of similar size and level.ICU experience is mandatory; ED experience highly preferred.Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Medical Records strongly preferred.Previous experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers required.Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Professional licensure and certification must be in good standing without suspension or investigation.No involvement as a defendant in professional liability claims.Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required.Must successfully pass pre-employment health screening, drug testing, and criminal background check.Responsibilities:Deliver comprehensive patient care with strong nursing assessments in an acute care environment.Function independently with minimal orientation and supervision.Provide support within a fast-paced ED/ICU holding unit, managing critically ill adult patients.Location Insight:Syracuse, NY, offers a vibrant community with a mix of cultural attractions and outdoor activities, providing a balanced urban-suburban lifestyle.
