Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Providing critical care nursing in a dynamic Intensive Care Unit demands specialized skills and a strong team-oriented mindset. This opportunity in Arden, NC, places you in a fast-paced Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit (NTICU), delivering exceptional care to patients with complex trauma or surgical needs.The unit has 20 beds with a staffing grid of 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator and 10 nurses per shift, maintaining patient ratios typically ranging from 1:2 to 1:3, even amid staffing challenges. Equipment such as Camino ICP monitors, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), External Ventricular Drains (EVD), wound vacs, and arterial/Central Venous Catheter lines are utilized, supported by the Cerner EMR system.Key Responsibilities:Manage critically ill trauma or surgical ICU patients, providing advanced nursing care.Perform complex procedures including central line, chest tube, arterial line insertions, and percutaneous tracheostomies.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.Adhere to unit policies including dress code requiring navy blue scrubs and participate in weekend rotations approximately every other weekend.Qualifications & Desired Experience:Active RN license with ICU experience, preferably trauma or surgical ICU.Mandatory BLS and ACLS certifications.Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certifications highly desirable.Strong teamwork and communication skills essential for an effective clinical environment.This is a contract opportunity with potential for floating across various critical care areas such as MICU, NSICU, CICU, and CVICU, offering diverse experience and professional growth.Location Insights:Arden, NC, located near Asheville, offers a welcoming community nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains.
