Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A research-focused hospital in New York, NY is seeking a Pharmacist for a full-time maternity leave assignment lasting 6-12 weeks, with a potential contract-to-hire opportunity. This role requires expertise in IV admixture and cleanroom preparation to support both investigational and standard-of-care medication use in a multidisciplinary research environment.Key Responsibilities:Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, ensuring therapeutic appropriateness for research and treatmentCompound, dispense, package, and label pharmaceutical products in compliance with protocols and regulatory standardsMonitor drug therapies and advise clinical interventions when necessaryOversee pharmacy workflows, including technician supervision and verification of preparation and labeling accuracyProvide pharmacological information and counsel both healthcare professionals and patientsParticipate in clinical research meetings to enhance staff pharmacological and research knowledgeMaintain compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies such as NYSBP, DEA, FDA, NIH, and NYDOHManage investigational drug inventories and ensure sterile product preparation following aseptic proceduresMaintain pharmacy records, refrigeration logs, and controlled substance documentationCollaborate effectively as part of the hospitals research team to meet departmental goalsQualifications:Active NYS Pharmacist license in good standingMinimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience, including sterile IV compounding and cleanroom workStrong proficiency with hospital EHR systems (Cerner or EPIC preferred) and automated dispensing technologiesExperience handling controlled substances within hospital settingsAbility to interpret clinical trial protocols and dispense drugs per protocol independentlyCertification in sterile and non-sterile product preparation (BCSCP) preferred or willingness to obtainEffective record-keeping and procedure writing skillsPrior research pharmacy experience is a plus but not mandatorySchedule Options:Full-time: 8:30 AM 5:00 PMPart-time: 8:30 AM 1:00 PMThis maternity leave role offers a unique opportunity to engage in clinical research pharmacy within a prestigious hospital setting.
