Job DescriptionThe full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.Job DescriptionA pharmacy role is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a long-term care (LTC) and mail order environment. This 8-week contract position offers the opportunity to work variable shifts with a focus on patient care and medication management.Work Schedule:Monday to Friday: Variable shifts between 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM (9:30-6, 10-6:30, 11-8:30)Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PMResponsibilities:Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.Monitor patient medication adherence and identify any patterns of over-usage.Ensure prescribed medicines are appropriate for patients needs.Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with high accuracy.Provide patient counseling regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions.Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, and drug interactions.Deliver clinical services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.Compound medications, including the preparation of sterile solutions, following proper procedures.Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks.Manage inventory levels for pharmaceutical and medical supplies.Identify drug-related patient issues and collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.Active Minnesota Pharmacy license mandatory.Experience in long-term care pharmacy preferred.This contract position provides a dynamic work environment with opportunities to engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
