Pay: From $43.70 per hour Job description:The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Radiologic Mammography TechnicianLocation: Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA Schedule: PRN CoverageEmployer: U.S. Got People (USGP)Overview:U.S. Got People (USGP) is actively seeking qualified Radiologic Mammography Technologists to join our team and provide high-quality imaging services to active duty service members at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. This role is ideal for a professional dedicated to clinical excellence and passionate about supporting the military community.Benefits:Competitive payMinimum Qualifications:Education: Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology programCertification:Current certification in Mammography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationExperience:At least 12 continuous months of full-time experience as a Mammography Technologist within the past 24 months, including digital imagingLicensure/Registration: Must be an active member of the ARRT-M registryImmunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain):Hepatitis B (series and titer)Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)Varicella (Chickenpox)TB (Tuberculosis) testSeasonal Influenza (flu) vaccineCOVID-1G vaccine (if applicable)Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):Perform both routine and advanced mammography procedures using digital or analog equipment, including stereotactic imaging, mammotomy, and basic breast ultrasoundAccurately log patient check-ins and check-outs in MHSGenesis, Mammography Record System (MRS), and related scanner logsPrepare and position patients with professionalism and care, explaining procedures clearly and easing patient anxietyIdentify potential abnormalities or anatomical variations and determine the need for additional imaging viewsEnsure all mammograms meet high technical quality standards and are properly documentedCorrelate patient history and prior diagnostics to ensure thorough, targeted imagingMaintain clean, fully operational mammography equipment and conduct daily ACR-compliant quality control checksIdentify and troubleshoot artifacts and equipment issues; report malfunctions through appropriate channelsRecognize and respond to adverse reactions or emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions as neededCollaborate with radiologists and staff physicians, and support optimal patient outcomes through communication and clinical insightMonitor and restock exam room supplies to ensure readiness for all scheduled proceduresWhy USGP?At U.S. Got People, we are committed to serving those who serve.
